Period-like cramps 6 weeks pregnant?

What type of abdominal pain/discomfort is normal during pregnancy? I have occasional period like cramps, they are not severe and I haven't had any bleeding. From time to time I feel other random twinges of pain/slight discomfort. I won't being going to my first prenatal appointment for another 2 weeks probably.
